September 20th, Judy Lawrence loved the gift of the shrug that was beautifully fashioned by Joyce Kozeliski! (Joyce donated it for the silent auction at last Saturday's Fiesta Fundraiser.) As first, she didn't understand why she was fortunate enough to receive it, but was truly grateful. She smiled when Annette and Maggie told her the chapter wanted her to have it and that the money donated for it at the silent auction was applied to the chapter's "Bright Futures Scholarship Fund" for high senior girls.

September 21st, at the chapter's monthly meeting, Jill Hyde was presented with the other shrug that Joyce knitted. Thank-you Note  from Jill: “I’m wearing the beautiful soft shrug as I write this. You really touched my heart by giving me the shrug that Joyce made, as a pre-op gift. Thank you.” (As it turns out, the great news is that Jill will not have a surgery, after all. What a relief!)

Fiesta Fundraiser

Linda and Chris Petroff hosted this year's P.E.O. Chapter JI Fiesta Fundraiser at their lovely home -- on their beautiful back patio!

It was so much fun to spend an evening with one another, our BILS, and our guests! The mood really was festive, as we tried to guess who we were (i.e., the names that were taped to our backs for our mixer), leisurely enjoyed one another's company, while dining on delicious food, "shopped" which gift baskets we wanted to bid on, and listened to Kathie Burson's excellent program on our various philanthropies. The fundraiser was a huge success!

Linda and her husband Chris were the perfect hosts! They made us feel so welcome. We sincerely appreciate their gracious hospitality!

And we sincerely appreciate our chapter's "Just Incredible" Operations Committee members for orchestrating such a marvelous gathering tonight! Our fiesta fundraiser netted $6665QuĂ© fabuloso!
