This 3 1/2-minute poem/rap is awesome! When I heard it, I thought of how P.E.O. Sisters "show up" and do whatever they can to empower women -- to help them pursue their educational dreams. Indeed, it is a blessing to be a blessing to so many women. What we do makes a difference in women's lives! -- Belinda Alkula, President, P.E.O. Chapter JI (Lafayette/Colorado)

Basecamp Collective - Support After Marshall Fire

From Karen Lockwood in our P.E.O. Chapter JI ...

"PEO sister Barbara Donaldson in the Boulder chapter described to me the wonderful work her son Jeff and his buddies are doing, having originated this Collective and opened 3 locations to welcome fire victims for all manner of things they need. The stories are amazing."

Happy New Year!

Dear Sisters,

We had a very challenging year in 2021! Throughout the year, we dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of us endured incredible hardships, personally and within our families. And December 30th, some of us, along with thousands of our Boulder County neighbors, were threatened with wildfires during 100+-mile-per-hour winds, resulting in loss of life, homes burned to the ground, homes in dire need of repair, homes that lost power and heat. For some, the start of this new year was not happy, not at all. For some, the future is uncertain, and the idea of having to rebuild is overwhelming.

Throughout 2021, I witnessed the Sisters in our beloved P.E.O. Chapter JI responding with love and concern for one another. I sincerely appreciate the loving ways we stayed connected via texts, phone calls, emails, cards, notes, Zoom meetings.

Dear Sisters, as this new year unfolds, I pray that each of us will remain rooted in the knowledge that we will always be able to lean on one another and trust that we will always lovingly provide whatever support we can to one another.

Our loving support for one another is Just Incredible! This is why we can authentically say, "Happy New Year!"

Lovingly in P.E.O.,

Belinda
